Technology

DRS technology is designed to meet our clients' needs in terms of speed, security and stability.

DRSdigital® is a platform of software-based tools and customer services developed, owned and maintained by DRS. It enables our clients to provide secure access to certain confidential data for a select number of authorized users determined by the client. A DRSdigital® data room typically encompasses our DRSDocViewer© and our DRSq+a tool® technology.

The DRSDocViewer© is a DRS proprietary stand-alone software solution, which allows an authorized user to gain access to DRSdigital® projects. The DRSDocViewer© technology is coupled with a client's data (which has been processed into compatible formats, such as TIFF, JPEG2000 and PDF, including future generations thereof) and a proprietary protocol for communication between DRSDocViewer© and the DRS servers. The DRSDocViewer© enables the user, among other things, to navigate, view, search, bookmark, print and/or save all or portions of the data in a specific DRSdigital® project, depending on the permissions granted to an authorized user by the client.

The DRSDocMaster® is a web-based tool developed to serve as an administration tool for DRSdigital® Data Rooms. It provides for project management, user management, document management and reports. Project management enables managers to import project indexes and data, establish general data room settings, add additional deal managers, open and close projects and archive data. User management enables managers to grant access to users, administer groups and users and disseminate messages and notifications.
Document management enables managers to insert, delete, add as well as move, copy and rename portions of the data room index, data or cross-references on various levels. It also includes permissions management, importing and exporting indexes and administering updates and changes. The reporting functions include compilations of various detailed reports on group, user, index, document and page levels as well as usage levels.

The DRSq+a tool® is a DRS proprietary web-based tool. It enables authorized users, depending on their various roles, to submit, respond, re-direct and/or approve questions, which have been posed to a client's team. It also comprises various other functions, such as, providing a download area for specific documents to be accessed by users with specific permissions, an internal (sellside) / external (buyside) messaging system, detailed reporting regarding the status of the Q&A process, and the capability to export questions. The DRSq+a tool® is either used in conjunction with DRSdigital® or as a stand-alone solution.
